Applesause Cookies

My Aunt Peggy always made the BEST cookies at our family reunions when I was growing up! Her applesauce cookies were so good I couldn't stop eating them! Be sure to make an extra batch, or they'll never make it out of the kitchen!

1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. applesauce, unsweetened
1 tsp. soda
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten egg and then applesauce after soda is stirred into it. Add other ingredients.

Drop cookies by spoonfuls onto cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes.

FROSTING:
3 tbsp. cream
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Add enough powdered sugar to cream and vanilla until thickened.
